Triathlon #2 (and last!) was yesterday very early in the morning in New Iberia. It was so early that we got a hotel room and left Saturday afternoon. We stopped in Lafayette where the early check in/packet pick up was, mainly because I wanted to know the answers to some crucial questions (like is there going to be beer? The guy didn't know, and no, there wasn't.)

I don't feel like writing about this anymore, I'll just say the competition was stiff, I was really racing with this girl on the bikes, I fell dismounting, and I came in first in my AG and 5th overall

So I have been asking around, trying to find someone to explain to me why not to vote for Bobby Jindal in the coming gubernatorial elections.
As I am politically dumb (but I do love the drama!), liberal, and tend to like to vote democratic (and Bobby J is a republican), but it doesn't really sound like it's a contest; him vs. some other dudes

ANYWAYS, I finally got the answer I was looking for: to make a run-off election, because after a run-off, it will be a whole different election.

Now I just have to figure out which of the other dudes to vote for. I just wish Bobby J's opponents would either leave literature on my porch making it look appealing to vote for them, or not leave any at all. (as opposed to the crap I find on the porch).

Well, it's more specific than that. It's either Georges or Campbell. I guess Georges because he's the most likely candidate to go into a run-off, or Campbell because apparently he has some good ideas. Like to tax oil companies for money for coastal restoration http://fostercampbell.com/campbell_plan.html

Anyways, I don't know. And that wraps up, me trying to talk politics.

Charlottesville is SO BEAUTIFUL. I went running this morning in the hills past farms and it was absolutely breathtaking. Then the hills absolutely kicked my ass.

I am visiting my friend Stephanie from college who I haven't seen in 2 years. Then I am going to DC this weekend to visit Becky. For those of you who might remember, she came for Mardi Gras last year. Then I am not sure what I am doing, but I am having a GREAT TIME!!!!!

Math Camp was the funnest thing ever.

Your Score: Cheezburger cat

74 % Affection, 69 % Excitability , 55 % Hunger

Sure, you deserve one. You helped popularized lolcats from a running gag to an online sensation. Now mainstream media writes asinine columns on this 'phenomenon', students write theses on the topic, programming languages adopt the grammar, and losers write tests about them on dating sites. Now take your cheezburger and never touch the internets again.

I don't understand why people in weird random states care so much to make cockfighting illegal in Louisiana. Apparently they just lost trying to make some bill that would make it more difficult to transport cocks. All I know is I LOVE seeing COCKFIGHTING in newspaper headlines on a weekly basis. Today it was Federal Cock. ALmost as good as Bush's approval ratings.

ANYWAYS cock aside

So Chrissy and I packed almost 150 plastic Easter eggs last night to hide for the Easter egg hunt Sunday and they are fucking AWESOME! Seriously, the prizes in the eggs are WAY cooler than ANY easter egg hunt I have ever seen. 50 of them are jello shots, the other 100 are just candy and random fun crap.

AND to top it off, Chrissy got prizes for the first, second and third place finishers for the hunt, and they are seriously THE COOLEST prizes EVER. And we made some awesome booby prizes for the losers.

SO if you have nothing better to do Sunday, you should seriously come to CIty Park for this Easter Egg hunt because it's AWESOME. ANd then there's always kickball too.

Last night we also made this awesome Matzah ball soup for Passover, and painted Easter eggs. I am feeling the holiday spirit!!

I also realized I technically have a week off school. Which doesn't mean much because I have ALOT of work to do, it's just a funny thought because it wasn't until yesterday afternoon (while I was already on my "week off") that it occured to me. Technically now I could go on vacation somewhere for 5 or 6 days, come back and be in good shape. Isn't that weird?

This coming weekend is EASTER weekend. I say WOOT because it means more days off from school and nice weather!!

ANYWAYS, Aloysius and Pass Out Johnny decided to start up a pickup game of kickball at City Park at 2 PM on Easter Sunday, where we always play.

As a Jew with family 1500 miles away, I am always eager to do fun outdoor stuff on Easter (it IS a holiday!), and I have decided to expand on this and hide Easter eggs around the field and have a kickball Easter egg hunt.

ANyways, so people with nothing better to do (ie no family obligations) should come out! Running around outside is AWESOME!

I also have lately found a new appreciation for ANY activity that does NOT involve being in a bar. Saturday night tested my first time in a bar for longer than an hour in a looong while, and I learned I simply can't do it anymore. It is probably just a phase I am going through, but mainly the cigarette smoke plus being somewhere after 11 at night and not DOING anything just sitting therse plus I really really hate cigarette smoke just made it really difficult. So I have this newfound appreciation for kickball. For daytime parties. FOR FESTIVALS!!

anyways, that rant outside, hopefully I will see everyone SUNDAY at CITY PARK.

I FINALLY got our wireless network working last night! (after weeks of not getting around to it, then having a snag). I named our network SITA after the kitty.

Anyways, the reason I am bringing this up because for some of the geekier, our internet may be interesting. I don't know if anyone knows anything about the New Orleans free wireless networking, but after Katrina they wired the city (actually downtown and most of uptown), and there is free wireless access in their spots.

In actuality, it means if you are close enough to one of the wireless boxes on a light pole in the area that is under the wireless network, you can get some slow free internet.

The company that does this Earthlink, has also been sending promos for their internet pay options.

AND we just got their wi-fi. Which means for $21 a month, apparently you can log in anywhere you get their signal and get a faster free connection (since I don't work downtown, and anywhere I would take my laptop would have some other internet, it doesn't really matter)
BUT they also send you a modem, so you can connect faster with the wireless, and with a computer that does not necessarily have a wireless card.

SO for such cheap internet, that allegedly is pretty fast, WHY NOT? So we got the modem in the mail. It looks just like a modem that we are used to, except instead of a cable or DSL cord, it has a huge atennae. Which was why I had some difficulties networking it with the router, I had to upgrade some Linksys firmware online in order to get it to work.

BUT now we have this wireless network that comes from a wireless signal that comes from some telephone pole nearby, and it costs $21 a month. And it's pretty fast too, if I look at my tool bar it has been oscillating between a speed of 36.0 and 54.0 Mbps (this is on a wireless connection on my laptop), which is good. I am also sitting next to the router though.

Anyways, I thought that may be interesting. I think it is.

coffee is AMAZING! YUM!

Today is the last day of spring break. I am going to the beach with Sarah and Dan. BEACH!!

Johnny Feng gave me a monitor, and asked if I had a power cable. I was like YEAH! And then I don t. I am just bewildered where my second power cable disappeared to. I am so glad I am not moving for a while. Thanks Johnny, I am super stoked about getting my computer online!
I am going to get a massively huge hard drive and put it in my computer. I have like 80 gigs on my laptop, and 28 free gigs right now. I would like to have alot of free space here. I want to dump everything on my computer.

Okay I am totally not interesting. IT's SPRING BREAK!!!

I am listening to "it means everything" that Save Ferris CD for the first time on the order of like 10 years. it's so awesome. coffee and save ferris. BEFORE THE BEACH!
